JANUARY 2026 EB-3 DOL FLAG UPDATE
Isaford Immigration is pleased to provide you an update on the US Department of Labor PERM Priority Date.
The US Department of Labor PERM Priority Date has been updated on the FLAG system for the period up to 05 January 2026.
The US Department of Labor PERM Priority Date is now August 2024 & has moved forward 1 month since our last update in December 2025. This means the DOL FLAG Priority Date has moved forward by 11 months since January 2025.

US VISA BULLETIN JANUARY 2026
The January 2026 Visa Bulletin has been released by USCIS and shows:
- EB-3 Other Workers: 01 August 2021. Moved forward 1 month from December 2025 Visa Bulletin.
- EB-2 National Interest Waiver: 01 April 2024. Moved forward 2 month from December 2025 Visa Bulletin.
- EB-5 Investor Visa: Current (no waiting list). Remains Current since December 2025 Visa Bulletin.

USCIS ANNOUNCES CHANGES TO NATURALIZATION TEST
On 17 September 2025, USCIS announced several changes to the Naturalization Test which provides for American citizenship: https://www.uscis.gov/newsroom/news-releases/uscis-unveils-first-changes-to-naturalization-test-in-multi-step-overhaul-of-american-citizenship
“American citizenship is the most sacred citizenship in the world and should only be reserved for aliens who will fully embrace our values and principles as a nation. By ensuring only those aliens who meet all eligibility requirements, including the ability to read, write, and speak English and understand U.S. government and civics, are able to naturalize, the American people can be assured that those joining us as fellow citizens are fully assimilated and will contribute to America’s greatness. These critical changes are the first of many,” said USCIS Spokesperson Matthew Tragesser.

ALBERTA FGES PROGRAM: FAST TRACK RESIDENCY IN CANADA
Isaford Immigration is now offering a new pathway to Permanent Residency in Alberta Province, Canada.
Alberta has created a new Alberta Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream Permanent Resident program intended to attract professionals, business owners and entrepreneurs to launch a business in Alberta. The businesses do not need to be innovative, and the owners can be passive or active in running the business.
There are no team applications (only 1 applicant per business) for the program, but an applicant can share ownership of the business with a Canadian or foreign national.

CYPRUS SECURES EU BACKING TO JOIN SCHENGEN ZONE BY 2026
After announcing their plan to join in May 2025, Cyprus is set to join the Schengen Zone in early 2026.
It has never been a better time to apply for a Greece Golden Visa to take advantage of the Schengen Zone membership, providing visa free access across 27 EU nations.

US SUSPENDS DIVERSITY VISA PROGRAM
On 18 December 2025, President Trump suspended the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program, sometimes called the “green card lottery,” following shootings at Brown University and of a Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor by a Portuguese national who immigrated to the United States in 2017 under that program and obtained legal permanent residence.
