Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for a 190 visa, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

1. Clean Background
  • The applicant must have no criminal record or be blacklisted for visa applications with the Australian government.
2. Good Health
  • Applicant should be in good health with no contagious diseases and be physically able to work.
3. Qualification

Australia Skilled Migration is a points-based system requiring minimum of 65 points to be eligible to apply. Points are based on:

  • Aged below 45
  • English language ability with minimum of IELTS 6.0 (provides zero points)
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree from an Australian education institution or other degree of recognized standard.
  • At least 3 years skilled employment in your nominated occupation.

Applying for a 190 visa requires:

1. Employability Check
  • Check your employability eligibility against the priority Skilled Occupation List of your preferred Australian state or territory.
  • Different state prioritise different occupations based on their specific needs.
  • States prioritise occupations on both the Medium and Long Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) & Short Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) based on whether applicant is onshore or offshore.
2. Skills Assessment
  • Obtain a positive Migration Skills Assessment in your nominated occupation.
3. Expression of Interest
  • Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through Skills Select.
4. Invitation
  • Receive an invitation from an Australian state or territory.
  • Invitation rounds are monthly or quarterly depending on requirements.
  • Invitation rounds for the 190 visa are subject to the needs & requirements of individual states at the time.
  • Only the top scoring applications will receive invitations in each round.
5. Visa Application
  • Submit a visa application within 60 days of receiving an invitation.
  • Applicant must live in the state which issued the invitation for a minimum of 2 years.
