Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream:
Eligibility Requirements:

Work Experience: Minimum 6 months full-time work experience actively managing or owning a business or equivalent.
Language: Minimum English CLB 5 in all skills = equivalent to IELTS General Training (L: 5/R: 4/W:5/S:5)
Business Ownership: Must own at least 34% of the Alberta business if it is in Edmonton or Calgary OR must own 51% of the Alberta business if it is located outside Edmonton or Calgary.

- Tourism
- Life Sciences
- Pharmaceuticals.
Note: The Alberta business the client invests into does not have to be an innovation business. Clients who own an existing business in Alberta has a slightly different path. Franchise businesses are not permitted.
Minimum Business Investment:
- Invest a minimum of CAN$ 100,000 into their Alberta business if it is in Calgary or Edmonton.
- Invest a minimum of CAN $50,000 into their Alberta business if it is located outside Edmonton or Calgary.
Rural Entrepreneur Stream:
Eligibility Requirements:
Work Experience: 3 years business ownership OR 4 years in senior manager position
Education: Must have completed at least high school to Canadian standard
Language: Minimum English CLB 4 in all skills = equivalent to IELTS General Training (L:4.5/R:3.5/W:4/ S:4)
Net Worth: Must demonstrate net worth of at least CAN$ 300,00
Business Investment: Must invest at least CAN$ 100,000 in a business in Canada
Business Ownership:
- New Business: Must own at least 51% and business partners must be Canadian citizens or have PR
- Buying an Existing Business: Must acquire 100% ownership and control
- Eligibility: Business must not be on list of ineligible businesses
- Location: Business must be located in a community of less than 100,000
- Job Creation: Must provide at least 1 full time position for a Canadian citizen for a minimum of 6 months
Community: Need letter of support from community for business plan
