Launched in November 2025, the New Zealand Business Investor Visa (BIV) allows applicants the opportunity to gain permanent residency with a path to citizenship in New Zealand.
This new program is designed to attract entrepreneurs, business owners and senior corporate managers to invest into New Zealand’s vibrant economy.
The BIV program is attractive because you invest in an existing business and you can arrive in New Zealand before making your investment.
Eligibility:
- Be a business owner with at least 3 years ownership with NZ$ 1 million turnover OR at least 5 full-time staff
OR
- Be a senior manager in a company with at least 5 staff under your management OR NZ$ 5 million turnover
Requirements:
- Invest NZ 1 million in an existing business in New Zealand.
- Business must be at least 5 years old and have at least 5 full-time staff.
- Retain the business investment for at least 3 years.
- Recruit at least 1 more staff member in 3 years.
